Example of Corporate Pettiness
2002-07-26, 8:18 a.m.

Today is Friday, and I’m wearing one of my 3 or 4 suits. My company has ‘Dress-up Fridays’ and their reasoning is this: they let us go business casual (not suits, but no jeans or t’s or shirts with writing, except for the polo’s with the company logo we can buy, yaddayaddayadda) most of the week. Then about a week before I started here, a bunch of the engineers (THEM, again!) decited to wear sweats and jeans and tennis shoes on Friday of their own accord and someone didn’t care for them declaring their own ‘casual Friday’ so they went the opposite way and made it policy.
